About the Artist Dr. Harpal Sodhi is a USA citizen. She spent her childhood in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. was a civil engineer, law qualified and an author. She is married to and has two daughters. Harpal Sodhi has the potential of harboring several creative activities. Her quest for attaining knowledge made her multi-dimensional. She managed an art and hobby center. She is an artist, an author, a Sitar player and a ‘Reiki-Master’. All these aspects complement each other and enhance her knowledge and ability to give birth to her creativity in various fields. She said in her artist statement,” My journey as an artist till date, has been a continuous passion to create works of art and it started in 1972 when I was also an art student and won an award in an art competition / exhibition. My works of art are in oil, acrylic, tempera, and mixed media where along with paint, I have used sand, thermocol sheets, crystal stones and soft marble stones. I paint on canvas, wood, and paper. Multidimensional Contemporary Art has given me an opportunity to pioneer “Mystical Art” which is my style and technique of creating paintings. I exhibited Mystical Art paintings in India, Canada and in US. The Theme was, The Healing Colors. The word Mystical depicts the magical and the spiritual aspects in the paintings. The unique forms and colors emit vibrations of positive energy.” Dr. Harpal Sodhi is a Master of Arts in English and M.A. Drawing & Painting. She is a Ph.D. in Fine Art (Drawing & Painting).
