I developed a passion for all things artistic from childhood, with an early aptitude for painting, then taught myself apparel design and construction, and began doing custom garments for clients while pursuing academic degrees. I got smitten with jewelry designm during my year-long sabbatical leave in Senegal, in the course of my 16 year college teaching career, inspired by Senegalese design esthetic, color use, I honed my expertise in various beadweaving, braiding and jewelry sculpting techniques, then decided to pursue jewelry apparel, and accessory design in 2015. Each day brings fresh ways of bringing my ideas to life. Quite the journey, it has been!
